The Eye of God is a
Masonic Symbol. It is actually an ancient Egyptian symbol adopted by the Knights Templar. The ‘God’ in question is Osiris, who died and was re-born as Horus, just as society must be destroyed and re-born.The
Eye of Horus represented many things to the Templars & Egyptians, including death, destruction terror wrath and re-birth. Horus is often represented as a hawk-like bird. This could be another source of inspiration for the American 'eagle' & the Great Seal.
